Spearmint Resources (SPMT) has engaged Ridgeline Exploration Services to carry out a work program at its Goose gold project in Newfoundland.

The program represents phase one of a broader exploration campaign at the company’s wholly owned project, which covers a total of 185 acres.

The project directly borders the northwest corner of New Found Gold’s Queensway Project. Earlier this year, New Found Gold announced a drill intercept of 92.9 grams per tonne of gold at the property, which is one of the most significant results to have been achieved globally this year.

On August 17 this year, New Found Gold announced the commencement of a 100,000-metre drill program at the Queensway Project. However, Spearmint cautioned that any discoveries made over the course of the program do not indicate future success at the Goose Project.

James Nelson, President of Spearmint Resources, said he is excited to have engaged Ridgeline Exploration Services for the phase one work program.

“The fact that New Found Gold has just commenced a 100,000-metre drill program to build upon its world class discovery demonstrates the tremendous potential of the Central Newfoundland Gold Belt.

“Spearmint is well-funded for, and plans to be underway with work programs on multiple projects shortly including the Perron-East Gold project in Quebec as well as a drill program on our Clayton Valley lithium project in Nevada,” he added.

James also noted that the results of a work program recently conducted at the company’s Hammernose gold project in British Columbia are expected in the coming weeks, and that September is likely to be a period of strong news flow.

Spearmint Resources (SPMT) is currently up 27.27 per cent and is trading at seven cents per share at 12:45pm EDT.
