Taking center stage in this week’s gold report, we have Osisko Development (TSXV:ODV; NYSE:ODV), a gold developer ushering its globally relevant Cariboo project in British Columbia on a clear path to production, with shares reflecting enthusiasm to the tune of a 102 per cent return year-over-year.

At the time of writing on Wednesday, the price of gold was US$4,317.10, according to data from ADVFN, up from US$4,193 per ounce in our December 10th report, driven by higher US unemployment, ongoing global tariff disputes and broader investor awareness of the yellow metal’s recent gains.

This week in gold

Also of note over the past week, in episode 41 of The 5-Minute Investor Podcast, Jonathon Brown and I took a look at a pair of stocks primed to benefit from the Santa Claus Rally, including rapidly growing gold producer, Monument Mining (TSXV:MMY), whose more than 10-bagger return since 2020 has been well-deserved, with the company’s potential arguably remaining untapped.

We also published an in-depth interview with Sranan Gold (CSE:SRAN), whose flagship Tapanahony project in Suriname houses gold expressed over a 4.5-km trend surrounded by major miners, including Newmont and IAMGOLD. Ongoing exploration is actively delineating project upside, building a case for turning around the stock’s 12 per cent loss since inception in April 2025.

We end this week’s gold report with Robex Resources (TSXV:RBXASX:RXR), an African gold producer on the verge of production at its Kiniéro project in Guinea, whose low operating costs and 2.5 million ounces in resources and reserves are likely to deliver significant improvements on the income statement.
