Talon Metals (TSX:TLO)is resuming its geophysical program at the company’s Tamarack project in Minnesota.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has granted the relevent permits to continue geophysical work at the site.

The Tamarack project comprises the Tamarack North and the Tamarack South sites. The geophysical program will focus on the Tamarack north site.

The company intends to run the geophysical work directly north of the defined resource, towards two distinct zones.

In a previous drill program 1.6 kilometres north of Tamarack’s already defined resource, the company intersected 1.63 metres of 9.33 nickel, 5.14 per cent copper, 0.18 per cent cobalt, 3.64 grams per tonne platinum group metals and 0.71 grams per tonne gold.

Another 1.4 kilometres north of that the company interested 0.25 metres at 9.95 per cent nickel, 5.74 per cent copper, 0.16 per cent cobalt, 2.46 grams per tonne platinum group metals and 0.32 grams per tonne gold.

CEO of Talon Metals, Henri van Rooyen said electromagnetic work had recently been used to expand the discoveries already made on the Tamarack project.

“Based on the successful results of testing different light weight and highly effective equipment during the Winter 2020 geophysical program, Talon has established an in-house capability to continuously collect electromagnetic, magneto-metric and magneto-telluric geophysical data.

Talon does not own the Tamarack project, instead it is working towards acquiring 60 per cent of the project through an earn in deal with Rio Tinto.

Talon Metals (TLO) is up 3.7 per cent and is trading at C$0.14 per share at 3:00 pm EDT.
