Novo Nordisk: Weight-Loss Hopes and Fierce Competition on the US Front
The Danish pharmaceutical group operates in a market environment where clinical success and operational reality run close together. While new study data show a remarkable 25% weight loss in women, the Scandinavians are visibly battling for market share in the US. Investors are therefore eagerly awaiting the upcoming quarterly report in early November, which should show how sustainable growth in the lucrative obesity drug segment really is.
Operationally, the company is now relying on a combination of medical innovation and aggressive capital management. With share buybacks equivalent to around EUR 1.50 billion, management is underscoring its commitment to consistently returning capital to shareholders. At the same time, this is intended to ease selling pressure and generate buying demand. Meanwhile, the recent approval of the weekly insulin Awiqli for children aged ten and over provides a meaningful expansion of the portfolio, while the final decision on CagriSema remains pending.
In valuation terms, with a share price of around EUR 34.70 and a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of around 14 based on the previous year, the shares appear to price in many risks already. Despite intense competition from rivals such as Eli Lilly, the current fundamental base should provide a solid starting point for long-term investors.
Technically, a move above EUR 38.50 should clear the way toward a price target of EUR 50, as both key SMAs (50-day and 200-day) would then have been surpassed. Before that, upside resistance is likely to emerge again at EUR 40-41 and EUR 44-45. The coming weeks will show whether the technical bottoming formation proves sustainable.
Novo Nordisk is currently scoring points with strong medical progress and consistent share buybacks. However, the company must prove it can offset ongoing pressure in its US business.
Airbus: Europe’s Aerospace Giant – The Final Push to Meet Ambitious Delivery Targets
Europe’s largest aerospace group faces a huge logistical challenge in the final quarter of 2026. To achieve its ambitious annual target of around 870 aircraft delivered, the group must set a historic record in the coming weeks. New major orders, such as Aviation Capital Group’s order for 75 A320neo jets, demonstrate unabated demand, but execution on the factory floor is also visibly reaching its limits.
Meanwhile, the operational machinery is running at full speed but is being severely strained and hampered by external headwinds and engine supply chain problems. Despite positive signals from suppliers such as Safran, which delivered 535 LEAP engines in the third quarter, component shortages and a lack of skilled workers remain acute risk factors. If orders cannot be fulfilled on time, the market is likely to react with disappointment. The share price currently stands at EUR 192.70, back below the psychologically important EUR 200 mark. This reflects the uncertainty arising from full order books and operational bottlenecks.
Despite the short-term hurdles, analysts remain largely confident about the DAX company’s future development. In the long term, Airbus should benefit from a growing cargo market and stable passenger demand, promising solid margins and rising earnings. If a sustained break above the technical resistance levels, particularly at EUR 200, holds, the path is set for a continued recovery and thus also to “green”.
Technically, the shares are still in a broader uptrend but are already undergoing a more pronounced short-term consolidation. The bold could build an initial position here and expand it on a break above the EUR 200 mark. Following a break above the high at EUR 221.23, the price target would then be in the region of EUR 230-240.
In summary, Airbus shines with bulging order books, but must still demonstrate in the final quarter that it can overcome painful engine bottlenecks and meet delivery figures as planned.
HPQ Silicon: Tailwinds from Defence and Electric Mobility! Is the Innovative Silicon Pioneer Poised for a Technical Rebound?
Beyond Airbus and Novo Nordisk, technology stock HPQ Silicon offers exciting prospects. Progress in battery materials and clean hydrogen, as well as an interesting technical setup, support a rebound.
The company holds a 36.8% stake in Novacium, its French partner for silicon anode materials and hydrogen systems. It is also advancing fumed silica production through its subsidiary, HPQ Silica Polvere. It has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with an industrial partner for this purpose. PyroGenesis, the technology supplier, would build the reactor for USD 20 million. Although the memorandum of understanding is not yet binding, it demonstrates industrial interest in the technology.
There is also operational progress. In the third quarter of 2026, Novacium delivered the first prototype batteries with twice the energy capacity to the French military. Added to this are battery packs for French army drones and an order for 100 drone battery packs from Alta Ares. An agreement to evaluate the HPQ ENDURA+ cells was also signed with Aptera Motors on October 15. Aptera is testing the cells in the laboratory, a first step towards validation in an electric vehicle.
From a technical perspective, the share is in an exciting phase. If it achieves a sustained breakout from the descending trend channel in place since spring 2026 above CAD 0.14, or better still above CAD 0.15, the share could gain momentum. On the downside, support lies in the CAD 0.12 to CAD 0.13 range, which is additionally underpinned by a multi-year trendline. The recent increase in volume shows that buyers are keen to buy at low prices and interest in the share is growing.
A breakout above CAD 0.14 or CAD 0.15 would initially bring the upper boundary at CAD 0.20 within reach. With particularly strong performance, CAD 0.24 to CAD 0.25 is possible at the local high there. Once these hurdles have been overcome, the way towards CAD 0.30 would be clear.
In conclusion, HPQ Silicon combines technological innovation in the field of green materials with attractive technical opportunities. A breakout from the downtrend would be the starting signal for investors to invest in the share.
