Welcome to episode 72 of The 5-Minute Investor Podcast, where Stockhouse columnists Jonathon Brown and me, Trevor Abes, each deliver a 2.5-minute profile on a stock related to recent investment news. This week, we’re focusing on rising copper demand, which the International Energy Agency sees falling into a 30 per cent deficit by 2035, beginning as soon as 2027, according to a report from BMI, as new AI data centers, electrical grid enhancements and renewable energy technologies proliferate across the globe, straining a copper market dealing with falling grades and dwindling investment. This mismatch is, in turn, shining a light on copper companies in production, on track for future growth, best positioned to capitalize on the metal’s varied industrial applications.
