Canada’s main stock index finished lower on Tuesday as technology and mining stocks came under pressure, outweighing gains in the energy sector. Investors stayed on the sidelines amid rising global bond yields and ongoing concerns about developments in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, US markets declined as Treasury yields climbed, raising fears that inflation could remain stubbornly high. Weakness in semiconductor stocks also contributed to the broader market selloff.
