HEXO Corp (HEXO) is teaming up with Truss CBD USA and Molson Coors to launch Veryvell sparkling CBD water.
Verywell is a hemp-derived, adoptogenic beverage that comes in three different flavours: Focus (Grapefruit Tarragon), Mind & Body (Strawberry Hibiscus) and Unwind (Blueberry Lavender).
HEXO became incorporated in 2013 under the name ‘The Hydropothecary Corporation’ and as of its Q1 reporter for 2021, maintained the number one market share in Quebec.
After the legalization of cannabis in Canada in 2018, they changed its name to HEXO Corp, trying to broaden their appeal to recreational adult users and medical markets.
HEXO CEO and co-founder Sebastien St-Louis is excited about the partnership.
“Our joint venture with Molson Coors Canada saw Truss Beverage Brands become the number one choice for consumers in Canada and we are expecting similarly great results in the US,” he said.
HEXO has helped power this new beverage–VeryWell-through its previous cannabis knowledge.
“We have near-term plans to invest additional capital in the USA to support Truss CBD USA and to further execute on our Powered by HEXO™strategy with other potential CPG partners, outside of beverages, with whom we are currently in ongoing negotiations,” St-Louis added.
Truss Beverage Co. has its roots in Belleville, Ontario.
In Belleville, Truss has managed to reclaim a space of over 180 000 square feet to make its cannabis beverage. Truss mentions they are not a cannabis company, driving home they’re a beverage company first and foremost.
The Verwell drink is produced and distributed within Colorado. Truss CBD USA is separate from Truss Beverages, Molson Coors and HEXO’s joint venture in Canada which maintains a focus on non-alcoholic, cannabis-infused drinks.
