Visionary Gold Corp. (VIZ) has acquired 6,000 acres of state leases and unpatented mining claims from Innovative Exploration Ventures (IEV).

The payment of C$99,000 for the acquisition was made through the issuance of 550,00 common shares of Visionary Gold Corp. at a price of $0.18 each.

As part of the acquisition, the company also acquired IEV’s statewide geological database, which includes airborne magnetics, geochemical data, structural and lithological maps, drillhole database and sample library.

“We are pleased to announce the closing of our acquisition of IEV’s large land and data package and have already begun delineating priority areas for systematic exploration this summer on the newly acquired lands,” Wes Adams, CEO of Visionary Gold Corp., said in a press release.

He added that the company’s main focus over the last few months was to prepare for the maiden drill program at its flagship Wolf Gold Project, which is expected to begin soon.

Headquartered in Vancouver, Visionary Gold Corp. is a mineral exploration company with a focus on precious metals discovery and development in Wyoming’s historic Lewiston gold district of Fremont County.

As it stands, the company currently controls a 50 square kilometre land package with a range of high potential targets.

Shares of Visionary Gold are up 5.71 per cent to $0.18 as of 2:40 p.m. EDT.
