Westhaven Gold (WHN) has posted the latest grab sample assays from its Shovelnose gold property in British Columbia.

The company’s surface exploration program focused on the Franz zone, which was only discovered a week ago.

Gareth Thomas, the President and CEO of Westhaven Gold said the Franz vein zone was 2.8 kilometres from the south zone, where the company has made its highest grade discoveries thus far.

“This demonstrates we are dealing with a large and robust mineralised system and it is not just limited to the South zone.

“The Franz Zone was discovered just over a week ago, so we don’t yet know the extent, but this the most significant mineralised zone discovered on surface at Shovelnose,” he said.

The exploration at Franz returned a number of standout high grade samples, including a 2.29-kilogram sample that assayed a 51.1 grams per tonne gold and 165 grams per tonne silver result. Another 2.30-kilogram outcrop sample returned 4.19 grams per tonne gold result alongside52.5 grams per tonne silver. The final standout 1.25-kilogram result graded at 34.9 grams per tonne gold and 120 grams per tonne silver.

Peter Fischl, the Exploration Manager for Westhaven Gold said the grab sampling had returned some significant gold and silver assays, specifically the 4.19 and 51.1 grams per tonne gold results.

“These two grab samples occur over an east-west distance of five metres. The Franz vein zone outcrops at an elevation of 1,285 metres, and confirms the production time, dominantly rhyolite hosted gold-silver bearing horizon at South Zone is also preserved here,” he said.

Westhaven Gold Corp (WHN) is up 6.7 per cent and is trading at C$0.79 per share at 10:50 am EDT.
