Xtract One Technologies Inc. (XTRA) announced its SmartGateway security screening system was selected to be installed at entrances in the Hyundai Transys plant in Georgia.

The system will be deployed at the manufacturing plant to help protect workers and staff from weapons entering the buildings and to prevent mass casualty events. The technology has already been successfully implemented at a partnering facility, Kia Georgia Inc.

Jinho Kim, Manager of General Affairs, Environment, Health, and Safety at Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain Inc., commented,

“We were impressed by the way the Gateway solution was quickly and accurately detecting weapons, and we felt the customization aspect would fit seamlessly into our manufacturing facility.”

SmartGateway is designed to use artificial intelligence-powered scanners to detect concealed guns and knives to alert security personnel to conduct a secondary screening.

According to Xtract One, upgrades to its system have made SmartGateway even more user-friendly and require fewer people to operate compared to other scanning systems. It can also be customized to the security needs and requirements of individual facilities.

Peter Evans, CEO of Xtract One, added,

“[Older] Walk-through metal detector systems are inefficient by modern standards… They’re less secure and more intrusive than our Gateway, which makes our system the obvious choice to protect workers, partners and others who are entering a facility.”

Xtract One Technologies Inc. (XTRA) is up 8.00 per cent, trading at $0.54 per share as of 1:50 p.m. EST.
