Osprey Gold Development Ltd. (OS) announced a particularly high assay result from its Goldenville property in Nova Scotia.

A result of 269.15 grams per tonne of gold across 2 metres was recorded during a drill program covering thirteen holes on the property.

Despite this result that Company President Cooper Quinn was quick to point out that this assay would not re-direct the company’s aims.

“Narrow, high-grade gold mineralization is not the focus of Osprey’s programs, however they remain an important part of the story in the Meguma Terrane both for the historical mining, and in a modern context,” he said.

The company is instead focussing on results from two different holes that were tested.

“Twenty-four percent of samples in holes G19-16 and G19-17 returned over 0.1 g/t Au, indicating continued potential for disseminated mineralization on the property especially in this area along the south limb of the main structure.”

Osprey Gold Development Ltd. is currently exploring five gold properties across Nova Scotia and Canada.

The Goldenville District was initially a gold producer from 1862 to 1941 and is one of Nova Scotia’s best producing mining districts with a historic production of over 200,000 ounces.

Quinn went on to say he is looking forward to the further results, still pending, from the other holes dug in this initial program, as well as results from their nearby property Miller Lake.
