Gold explorer Probe Metals (TSXV:PRB) has appointed Jamie Horvat to its board of directors.

Chairman Jamie Sokalsky said Horvat brings a wealth of experience which he hopes will advance the company’s gold projects.

“Jamie brings a wealth of experience to our board and we are very pleased to welcome him as an integral member of the team,” he said.

“His knowledge of capital markets and keen understanding of the key drivers in our industry will be invaluable as we continue to advance one of Canada’s largest gold exploration projects,”

“His experience will complement and strengthen an already diverse set of skills within the Company and we look forward to his contributions as we move forward.”

Horvat’s experience spans two decades, with his most recent position being an asset manager based in the United Kingdom. He has also managed institutional mandates for clients in Europe, Asia, the Middle east and North America.

In conjunction with this announcement, Probe Metals has granted its employees, officers, directors and consultants options to acquire a total of 2,650,000 common shares in the company at an exercise price of C$1.17 per share for a period of five years.

It has also granted 845,000 restricted stock units, which come under the company’s restricted share unit plan.

This entitles the holder to acquire one common share by delivering an exercise notice according to provisions in the share unit plan.

Probe Metals shares fell 1.71 per cent and traded at C$1.15.
