Nanotechnology company, Sixth Wave Innovations (CSE:SIXW) has signed a collaboration supply agreement with PuriTech.

Under the terms of agreement, the two companies will pool resources, working together to manufacture Affinity units, Sixth Wave’s cannabinoid purification system. PuriTech will contribute its patented ION-IX system to the process.

PuriTech’s ION-IX system has applications in water treatment, hydrometallurgy, sugar treatment, and chemical recovery. It has also been used in ion exchange applications, in which low waste or high-value component recovery was necessary.

Sixth Wave will use ION-IX to optimise its patent-pending, molecularly imprinted polymer technology. The company’s technology is for isolating and separating cannabinoids.

The end result will be the Affinity System, composed of equipment of Affinity adsorbent.

PuriTech also has the capacity to take data from Sixth Wave’s existing Affinity Units and put it to use. The company can design and develop bespoke system applications, based on this information.

As Sixth Wave ramps up manufacturing to meet demand, the supply agreement with PuriTech will once again prove useful. Through the agreement, the companies will accelerate the design, installation, commissioning, and optimisation of Affinity Units in various sizes and custom designs.

In addition to the main supply agreement, PuriTech will also provide other related services. These include helping Sixth Wave with distributing and marketing the Affinity Units.

PuriTech will also play a part in testing and developing new technology applications produced by Sixth Wave.

Sixth Wave’s CEO, Dr Jonathan Gluckman, commented on the collaboration.

“This agreement with PuriTech will allow Sixth Wave to accelerate the manufacturing of the Affinity Units, to meet the unparalleled current and prospective customer demand.

“PuriTech’s well-reputed history for delivering the highest quality equipment complements the advanced technology of the Affinity System,” he said.

Sixth Wave Innovations (SIXW) is up 11.43 per cent and trading at C$0.39 per share at 10:15am EDT.
