Delta 9 Cannabis (TSX:DN) has entered a partnership with the Manitoba Hotel Association to potentially sell its cannabis products at eligible hotels.

The agreement is expected to provide the company with an avenue to develop interest among Manitoba Hotel Association (MHA) members regarding cannabis retail outlets at their locations.

In addition to the pursuit of on-site cannabis sales, Delta 9 will offer its cannabis-related expertise through educational sessions, cannabis point-of-sale systems, supply chain logistics, product selection, marketing and procurement.

As such, the company hopes to build itself as the cannabis brand of choice for hotels in Manitoba.

Scott Jocelyn, President and CEO of the Manitoba Hotel Association, noted that the partnership presents a compelling opportunity for hotels to expand their range of services.

“We look forward to working with a Manitoba company like Delta 9 to help our members succeed in this new area of business.

“While not all hotels in Manitoba will be interested in retailing cannabis, for some of our members this will be a great opportunity to add to the mix of goods and services they provide in their communities,” he said.

As an allied partner, Delta 9 will act as a key sponsor of the MHA and intends to present at its next convention and trade show, which is attended by representatives from more than 800 hotels and restaurants each year.

John Arbuthnot, CEO of Delta 9 Cannabis, said he is proud of the company’s partnership with the MHA.

“The MHA membership includes the majority of hotels in Manitoba and has one of the highest membership rates among hotel associations in North America.

“We look forward to the opportunity to work with MHA members in helping them become established cannabis retailers and to distribute locally produced Delta 9 branded cannabis products throughout Manitoba hotels,” he added.

Delta 9 Cannabis (DN) is up 5.77 per cent and is trading at C$0.55 per share at 10:46am EDT.
