Manitou Gold (TSXV:MTU) has intersected its highest assay yet at the Goudreau Project in Northern Ontario.

The recent exploration work focused on the site’s Rockstar vein and the latest results indicate the vein maintains its continuity further along. The company hopes to further outline the extensions of the Rockstar deposit across the site.

Assays results include 2.0 grams per tonne gold over 3.2 metres and 5.0 grams per tonne gold over 4.6 metes.

Manitou also identified a 15-metre-wide, 650-metre-long gold zone located 200 meters south of the Rockstar vein, with grab samples returned assays of up to 87.68 grams per tonne gold.

The company identified zone using mechanised stripping, which is the process of using heavy machinery to strip a portion of land of its brush, rock and other debris from a zone.

Once that has been removed, the company can better identify a surface gold deposit.

The company has now begun step out drilling testing 200 metres further down the holes drilled to date. Furthermore, the company has performed a property-wide airborne geophysical survey, along with nine square kilometres geophysics work.

Richard Murphy, President and CEO of Manitou Gold, is pleased with the encouraging results.

“We have just begun to explore the Rockstar Vein system at depth in our first hole we intersected the widest and highest grade gold mineralisation drilled at Rockstar to date.

“I am particularly optimistic about our upcoming dapper drilling, which could really change the paradigm at Rockstar,” he said.

Manitou Gold (MTU) is in the grey and is trading at C$0.04 per share.
