Playground Ventures (PLAY) has appointed seven members to its newly established advisory board.

The advisory board members are Ian Verchere, Ron Segev, Jay Balmer, Sheldon Inwentash, Ben Stoddard, Kenny Huang, and Andrew Murphy.

The newly appointed board members bring decades of experience in the development of game projects and company building in the video game industry.

“We are excited to be working with an advisory board of this level. The quality and experience of these people speaks for itself,” said Jon Gill, chair of Playground Ventures.

The board’s experience and networks will help identify, engage, and develop valuable digital assets on the Playground platform.

Playground has also entered into an agreement with a private British Columbia company that creates, develops, and publishes mobile games and applications.

Under the terms of the agreement, Playground will acquire all of the issued and outstanding shares of the BC company in return for 6 million shares in Playground and a promissory note for $500,000.

The BC company is developing “The Campaign,” a hybrid casual mobile game and political campaign app designed to engage a wide range of mobile players.

Political campaigns are capturing people’s attention like never before and “The Campaign” enhances players’ connection with politics through a rewarding game where players follow stories as they manage and grow a political campaign.

The game is being developed to support a dual game strategy, with a direct-to-consumer version and a fully customizable business-to-business version.

Playground Ventures Inc. is engaged in the business of software games development and related services.
