Conquest Resources (CQR) has announced it has begun a Phase 1 drilling program at its Belfast Copper Project in Ontario.

Located near Emerald Lake, the project spans over 300 square kilometres which contains five properties in the Temagami Mining Camp. The company’s objective of the Belfast Copper Project — which is its flagship property — is to discover high-grade massive sulphide copper and precious metal deposits in the area.

The first series of drill holes and permits have been received through the MLAS office from the Ontario Government,  while drill pads have been constructed for the holes.

Deposit types known in this 100 per cent Conquest Resources-controlled  region include magnetic copper-nicklel-platinium group elements, in addition to volcanogenic massive sulfide and gold in banded iron formation.

“Additionally, Conquest Resources has also received d final infill ground gravity processed by Clearview Geophysics on the northern region of the property.“We are very pleased with the results of our 190 site ground gravity survey in Belfast Township. Our IOCG model for the Temagami Region is driven by the identification of a crustal scale structural regime in the corridor that is coincident with a geochemically anomalous region, in central Belfast Township, and is also associated with the eastern extents of the Temagami Geophysical Anomaly,” Kevin Stevens, chief geologist of Conquest Resourcecs, said in a press release.

Stevens continued, “Several copper-gold-hematite occurrences associated with large quartz veins have been historically discovered in the area as well. We are greatly anticipating our first drill holes into these structurally controlled dense and magnetic sources all of which appear to sub-crop within the top 600m of surface.”

Incorporated in 1945, Conequest Resources  is a mineral exploration company exploring base metals and gold on mineral properties in the Province of Ontario.

Shares of Conquest Resources rose 15.38 per cent to C$0.15 as of 3:58 p.m. EDT.
