Vista Gold Corp. (VGZ) has released assay results from the ongoing drill program at its Mt Todd gold project.

The Mt Todd project is located in Northern Territory, Australia, and is the largest undeveloped gold project in Australia, according to the company.

The company has completed 16 of the planned 18 holes in its drill program, and has drilled 5,466 metres to date.

The results released today include assays from two holes, which returned grades of up to 13.83 g/t gold over 1.0 metre.

Frederick Earnest, president and CEO of Vista Gold, commented on the results.

“Each of the holes completed has intersected mineralization consistent with our geologic model for the area north of the Batman deposit,” he remarked.

Moreover, he said, “The Northern cross load (Nxld) intercepts have so far been of a higher grade than those intersected in Batman and we are looking forward to additional drilling planned in this area.”

Drilling north of the Batman deposit encountered thicker and more intense veining, indicating that the area is more structurally complex.

The new area has shown potential to intersect higher-grade mineralization than that at the Batman deposit.

Vista Gold Corp. is a gold mining company engaged in the evaluation, acquisition, exploration, and advancement of gold exploration and potential development projects.

Vista Gold Corp. (VGZ) is up 8.18 per cent, trading at $1.19 per share as of 3:59 pm ET.
