Cortus Metals (TSXV:CRTS) has announced geochemical and gravimetric survey results from its Powerline project in Nevada.

Soil samples were collected at 120 metre spacing with 300 metre line spacing over the entire project.

The company explained that ionic leach processing was used to analyze 61 elements in 505 soil samples. This indicated anomalous gold zones and key pathfinder elements which included antimony, arsenic, silver and mercury.

Ionic leach processing is a method that detects geochemical elements in soils over alluvial cover.

“The new geochemical data and gravity results, in addition
to the previous mapping and ground magnetic survey, have generated several well-defined drill targets at Powerline and brought the project to the drill-ready stage,” Sean Mager, CEO of Cortus Metals, said in a press release. ” As several of our new projects in the basins of Nevada emerge with high-priority drill targets, we look forward to testing them
over the next six months with significant drill programs of 2,000-4,000 metres.”

Additionally, rock chip samples yieled up to 84 ppb gold and 6,490 ppb silver.

Located in Nevada’s Pershing County, the Powerline Project  shares similar structural trends and altered lithologies to Waterton’s Spring Valley Deposit. These include Triassic rhyolites, siliciclastics and carbonates in the Humboldt range.

The project is also located roughly eight kilometres from the Spring Valley deposit along a southwest extension of the Getchell Trend.

As the company looks to advance the project, drill permitting is also currently in progress.

With its primary headquarters in Edmonton, Alberta, Cortus Metals is a mineral exploration company largely focused on high-prospective early-stage projects in Nevada.

Shares of Cortus Metals are up 7.14 per cent to C$0.15 as of 11:46 a.m. EDT.
