Getchell Gold (GTCH) has announced results from the second drill hole of its 2021 drill program underway at the Fondaway Canyon Gold Project.

As per its announcement from June 1, Getchell Gold is currently drilling its Phase 1 4,000 metre drill program at the Fondaway Canyon Gold Project, with highlights from hole FCG21-08.

The hole, which was intersected at the Colorado SW Zone for over 200 metres, yielded mineral intervals including 4.2 g/t gold over 27.5 metres, 2.8 g/t gold over 24.5 metres, 1.4 g/t over 30.7 metres and 1.3 g/t gold over 16.8 metres.

“The unfolding story at the Fondaway Gold Project just keeps getting better.  We continue to hit significant grades of mineralization over considerable widths, with our latest drill hole reporting one of the most outstanding series of gold intercepts in the forty-five-year history of gold exploration on the Project,” Mike Sieb, President of Getchell Gold, said in a release.

The company said hole FCG21-08 is the seventh consecutive hole in the region that has intersected significant gold mineralization.

As the phase 1 program soldiers on, Getchell Gold has now completed three holes, totalling 1,230 metres.

Results from hole FC21-08 were drilled from the same drill pad as FCG21-07 and were designed to test the Colorado SW Extension Zone dow-dip and to the west of FCG20-02.

Other results from the 2021 Fondaway Canyon Drill program include hole FCG21-09, which was collared roughly 300 metres to the SE of FCG21-07 and completed a drill depth of 507 metres.

Meanwhile, hole FCG21-10 is now underway. This hole intends to test the North Fork Zone up-dip from the gold interested by hole FCG20-04.

Once a series of holes in the Central and Pediment target areas have been done, the drill will move to the north 60 kilometres for the maiden drill program at Getchell’s Star project.

Following the Star drilling program, the company will resume drilling at the Fondaway Canyon for the rest of the year.

Shares of Getchell Gold soared over 21 per cent to C$0.68 as of 2:26 p.m. EDT.
