Asante Gold (ASE) announces results of a metallurgical test work program undertaken on three composite drill core samples of gold mineralization.

The samples were taken from the Kubi gold mine in Ghana and produced positive results.

It determined the gold is easily accessible from the samples through conventional cyanidation with achievable gold recovery exceeding 90 per cent.

The samples were found to be flexible to upgrading by gravity with 38 to 59 per cent gold recovered to the gravity concentrate during the testing.

Reasonable upgrading of the gravity tailings stream by flotation was done with a mass pull average of 12 per cent.

Also, improved recovery of up to 97 per cent may be realized by decreasing the ore grind size to 80 per cent per 53 µm. Fine grinding to 80 per cent per 10 µm indicated an increase in overall gold recovery up to 99 per cent based on testing of head grade values.

The average gold grades determined from the three composite samples were 6.6 g/t, 16.7 g/t and 11.4 g/t.

Metso Outotec concluded that sufficient data was generated from the test to support a level operating and capital cost study based on the samples provided.

The test work suggests that the Kubi gold mine mineralization could support the development of an on-site process plant. Alternatively, it could be trucked to Bibiani, blended with feed from the gold mine there to its process plant.

Asante is focused on bringing the Kubi gold mine back into production.

Asante Gold Corp. (ASE) is up 0.79 per cent and is trading at $1.29 at 1:06 p.m. ET.
