One of PyroGenesis’ (PYR) Drosrite systems has passed site acceptance testing.

PyroGenesis’ Drosrite system recovers waste from the aluminum smelting process, which can be converted into marketable products, such as aluminum sulphate and ammonium sulphate.

The system was successfully commissioned at an existing North American automobile parts manufacturer client.

The name of the client has been withheld for confidentiality reasons.

The system is part of a two-system order, each with a capacity of 5,000 tons per year, originally intended for an Asian client. Due to significant delays in the Asian client’s expansion plans, PyroGenesis sold the units to the automobile company.

The remaining system, which will be the client’s fourth on-site, will be commissioned upon an expected increase in the client’s production demand.

PyroGenesis has installed or accepted orders for 14 Drosrite systems to date.

“This is the fourth Drosrite system to pass a SAT in as many days,” said P. Peter Pascali, CEO of PyroGenesis. “Being selected as a solution provider in some of the largest dross recovery projects internationally, and with our proven technology, we strongly believe that PyroGenesis has now become one of the largest aluminum dross recovery solutions in the world.”

PyroGenesis Canada focuses on advanced plasma processes and sustainable solutions to reduce greenhouse gases.

PyroGenesis (PYR) is down by 3.62 per cent trading at $2.66 per share as of 9:40 am EST.
