Lithium Americas Corp (TSX:LAC) has announced a partnership with Arena Minerals (TSXV:AN).

The companies will share technical information and explore opportunities to develop the Pastos Grandes basin.

“Building our relationship with Arena Minerals is an indication of our commitment to expand and further develop our production profile in Salta, Argentina,” said Ignacio Celorrio, President, Latin America of Lithium Americas.

“This collaboration agreement is a testament to the strong relationship Arena has with Lithium Americas, and the commitment we share towards sustainable, low impact and environmentally sound development in the Pastos Grandes basin,” stated William Randall, President and CEO of Arena.

A technical committee will be in charge of the collaboration agreement. The technical committee will have three members nominated by Lithium Americas, and three members nominated by Sal de la Puna Holdings, which is co-owned by Arena (65 per cent) and Ganfeng New Energy Technology Development (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (35 per cent), together called the parties.

The companies will share environmental baseline data, drill hole and sampling databases, processing methodologies and concentration paths, and existing extractive models, including resource and dynamic brine models.

Lithium Americas is focused on advancing lithium projects in Argentina and the United States to production.

Arena Minerals Inc is a lithium and copper exploration company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, and development of properties located in South America.

Arena Minerals Inc. (AN) opened trading at $0.49 per share.
