1844 Resources (EFF) has acquired four claims in the Gaspe Peninsula of eastern Quebec.

The claims are a requirement for the Saskatoon-based company to complete its land position on the Native Copper Project.

The acquisition brings the size of the company’s project to 299 claims cover over 98 square kilometres.

Currently, the project has seven known copper showings.

High-grade drilling, trenching and grab samples have already been procured from the land.

“We are exceptionally pleased with this addition as it closes off our land position and adds the remaining two (2) known showing in the Native Copper Project area. The high-grade samples taken to date on the limited exploration done in the area are highly prospective and strengthens our thesis that the Native Copper Project could become a copper exploration camp in the Gaspe Peninsula,” said Director of Exploration Bernard-Olivier Martel.

The company recently switched its focus to the Native Copper Project, after postponing its previously announced drill program on the Vortex Project due to the proximity of a habitat of a vulnerable or threatened wildlife species.

1844 Resources is 11.11 percent, trading at $0.05 at 11:31 am ET.
