Playfair Mining (PLY) has officially started drilling and exploration work at its RKV Project in Norway.

The Vancouver-based resource explore has started drilling at the property’s Røstvangen SW MMI target. This comes after recently receiving an off-road driving permit.

Drilling is expected to cover five targets during the summer drill season, with Røstvangen the first on the list. The company has approval for 33 initial drill holes, and up to an additional 107 holes for a total of 140, depending on results.

This is the first of five targets to be drill-tested this summer. Drill Notifications have been made and approved for 33 initial drillholes and up to 107 additional holes for a total of 140 holes dependent on results.

Playfair is using a drilling machine which can be disassembled for moving between drillholes, to make multi-target drilling possible.

The lightweight drill is capable of drilling to 150-metre depths using BQ sized rods.

“The drilling of these targets is the next logical step in exploring this expansive land package. The presence of good geology, past producers, and a recent history of neglect in the mineral exploration sector make this a compelling project. With more than thirty holes planned for this phase of exploration, we are excited,” said CEO Don Moore.

The Røstvangen Mine was discovered in 1905 and worked from 1908 to 1921 when it was abruptly closed due to falling copper prices in a worldwide economic crisis.

Playfair Mining is unchanged, trading at $0.075 at 9:38 am ET.
