NexGen’s (NXE) draft EIS has been approved by the CNSC.

The draft pertains to the company’s Rook I Project in Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin. With no comments or conditions, the approval marks the beginning of the 90-day period for the CNSC’s federal technical and public review.

Concurrently with the CNSC review, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment is coordinating a technical review of the draft scheduled to conclude in Q3 2022.

The company believes Rook I has the potential to offer generational energy benefits to local communities and Canada at large. Its Arrow Deposit hosts:

  • Measured mineral resources of 209.6M lbs. of U3Ocontained in 2.18M tonnes grading 4.35 per cent U3O8
  • Indicated mineral resources of 47.1M lbs. of U3O8 contained in 1.57M tonnes grading 1.36 per cent U3O8
  • Inferred mineral resources of 80.7M lbs. of U3O8 contained in 4.40M tonnes grading 0.83 per cent U3O8

“NexGen’s approach to all aspects of the EIS compilation and completion with respect to inclusive Indigenous and community engagement, incorporating elite environmental mine designs and its transparent engagement with regulators and governments is a credit to the team and community stakeholders,” stated Leigh Curyer, NexGen’s CEO.

NexGen is developing Saskatchewan’s Rook I Project, the largest development-stage uranium project in Canada.

NexGen (NXE) is up by 2.21 per cent trading at $4.855 per share as of 9:37 am EST.
