Edgewater Wireless Systems (YFI) has updated its ongoing corporate activities involving Wi-Fi technology advancements.

Edgewater develops advanced Wi-Fi silicon solutions, access points, and IP licensing. The company’s spectrum slicing gives a frequency band which can be sliced, allowing more radios to operate in any given area.

Edgewater believes its large-scale proof of concept (PoC) with a major tier-1 service provider boosted its work to drive the spectrum splicing technology into the global residential Wi-Fi market.

The company’s pilot program with this was reported to be a success. Test results on its beta silicon delivered a 50 per cent improvement to latency, driving deeper technical discussions on the benefits of Wi-Fi spectrum slicing in the home and in-person engagements have resumed.

Edgewater stated it has been working on design revisions for its spectrum slicing silicon solutions as it works with market players. It is expanding its customer base to include select vendors and OEMs for its next-generation silicon solutions.

The company shared it has seen more demand for Wi-Fi7 solutions. Edgewater’s technology in multi-link operations can support this need as it is allegedly 300 per cent more efficient than single-channel legacy architectures.

Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. (YFI) is unchanged trading at $0.06 per share as of 1:36 p.m. ET.
