Stelmine Canada (STH) has started drilling at its Mercator Project.

The company expects to drill 2,000 metres distributed along 100 to 180-metre deep holes on the Meridian gold-bearing Zone extending 2.5 kilometres by 500 metres.

The project is located in the eastern part of the Opinaca metasedimentary basin in northern Quebec.

Stelmine owns 100 percent of the project, which is part of a larger land package covering 1,277 claims or 655 square kilometres.

Drill sites were established based on the recent gold discoveries, geology, a 2022 IP survey and the results of a heliborne MAG survey completed on the entire property.

“The Mercator project indisputably generates strong interest from our technical crews due to the consistency of the received analytical results from the Meridian Zone,” said Stelmine CEO Isabelle Proulx.

Downing Drilling was contracted to run the drilling campaign.

Stelmine Canada is up 8.11 percent, trading at $0.20 at 9:30 am ET.
