Scotch Creek Ventures (SCV) has begun a detailed gravity geographical survey at its Macallan East Property, located in Nevada’s Clayton Valley.

According to the company, the survey will help portray the property’s underlying subsurface topography, which sits in a hotbed of recent lithium discoveries while also hosting North America’s only producing lithium operation.

Additionally, the company said the survey would calculate the density of the rock beneath and provide detailed mapping and data that Scotch Creek can use when assessing future exploration activities.

“The Macallan lithium project lies within a belt of Esmeralda Formation claystone which hosts prolific lithium mineralization along the east flank of the Clayton Valley. This belt of rocks is cut by important, district-scale faults trending NNE-SSW across the resource areas of Cypress Development Corporation and Noram Ventures and the Macallan East property,” Robert D. Marvin, technical director at Scotch Creek, said in a press release.

Marvin also said the company is beginning a detailed gravy survey to map the structural zone, which will allow Scotch Creek to target the upthrown side of the structural zone in positions near recent claystone-hosted lithium mineralization Sienna Resources discovered.

As such, Scotch Creek is now awaiting drill results for core samples submitted from its exploratory drill hole, which was completed at the end of May this year.

Shares of Scotch Creek Ventures are up 1.69 per cent to C$0.30 as of 10:48 a.m. EDT on Monday
