Gratomic (GRAT) has a trenching program underway on its Capim Gross Project in Brazil.

The Toronto-based high-grade mineral explorer also unveiled the extension of a second graphite deposit located south-east of the main deposit.

The sixteen-trench program began on Aug. 15.

The trenching program is estimated to take six working days.

To date, the company has five confirmed trench hits in the second graphite body. The mineralized zone has an extension beyond 500 metres, with graphite gneiss with orientation well defined.

Large quantities of high-quality vein graphite have already been shipped for testing to confirm its viability as an anode material.

Gratomic is confident that the test results will give it unique competitive advantage in its desired target markets.

The company is currently operating projects in Namibia, Brazil, and Canada.

It has also formed a collaboration agreement with Forge Nano to use its patented ALD coating.

Gratomic is down 3.06 percent, trading at $0.48 at 12:55 pm ET.
