The Oak View Group is hiring Patriot One Technologies (PAT) to provide security at yet another one of the group’s venues.

The Vancouver-based tech company will now deploy its Smart Gateway patron screening tool at Oak View Group’s New Acrisure Arena.

Located in Greater Palm Springs, California, the newly-built $300 million arena is the home of the Coachella Valley Firebirds of the American Hockey League (AHL). The team is the AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken, which is owned and operated by Oak View Group.

Patriot One employs the same proprietary screening at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena, as well as several other Oak View Group venues in the United States.

The company recently signed a deal with the Los Angeles-based global venue development, advisory, and investment group to provide the service at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut and the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.

“Technologically advanced arenas are looking for the most reliable, accurate, and flexible physical security technology to protect patrons and staff, which is why they’re turning to Patriot One,” said Patriot One Technologies CEO Peter Evans.

“Whether it’s setting up our system in a new destination like Acrisure Arena, or updating older, historic facilities with modern technology, SmartGateway is the right choice.”

Opening in December, Acrisure Arena will be the first of its kind in the greater Palm Springs area. Annually, Acrisure Arena will attract over one million visitors bringing year-round entertainment to the region and hosting sports, music, and family events.

“We chose Patriot One’s SmartGateway for its modern, flexible technology and because we were able to customize it to fit Acrisure’s unique brand. Our patrons and staff won’t have to worry about someone walking in with a weapon during events, which will allow them to enjoy their experience fully. OVG is proud to add another facility to our growing list of partnerships with Patriot One,” said Acrisure Arena vice president of operation Phillip Ransford.

Patriot One Technologies is up 9.43 percent, trading at $0.58 at 10:23 am ET.
