Group Eleven Resources (ZNG) has begun a follow-up drill program stepping out from the recent discovery hole at its Ballywire zinc prospect, PG West Project, Republic of Ireland.

Mobilization has begun on the follow-up program at Ballywire, consisting of an initial five holes totalling 1,500 metres.

Step-out distances are planned to range from 80 metres to 220 metres from discovery hole G11-468-03.

G11-468-03 was a step-out exploration hole which intersected one of the best holes drilled in Ireland over recent years at 66 metres of mineralization, including 6.85 metres of 15.4 per cent Zn+Pb and 160 g/t Ag, as well as 1.71 metres of 12.2 per cent Zn+Pb (10.3 per cent Zn and 1.9 per cent Pb) and 38 g/t Ag and 5 metres of 8.3 per cent Zn+Pb (6.2 per cent Zn and 2.1 per cent Pb) and 107 g/t Ag.

Ballywire discovery area remains open along strike for 3 km to the ENE and 1.5 km to the W, as well as up-dip to the NNW for at least 500 metres.

To test for Energy Critical Metals, which may occur in Irish-Type zinc deposits, the company re-assayed high-grade portions of the Ballywire discovery hole.

Assays show significantly elevated germanium (currently trading at US$31/oz, 40 per cent higher than silver at US$22/oz), with most grades between 23 g/t Ge and 79 g/t Ge. This represents some of the highest grades known in Ireland.

One drill rig will be used for the follow-up program, with results expected in early Q1 2023.

CEO Bart Jaworski sat down with Daniella Atkinson to discuss this news.
