CloudMD (DOC) has launched online prescription renewals for vision care through its eyecare platform, VisionPros.

The service will be available in qualifying U.S. states and will enable users to conveniently renew their vision care prescriptions online.

The launch is expected to improve the quality and scale of revenue generated from CloudMD’s online eyecare platform.

The move is part of CloudMD’s strategy to provide navigation and coordination for individuals’ health and wellbeing needs.

According to the Vision Council, approximately 35 per cent of buyers use the internet to purchase their contact lenses, with online stores expecting to have a higher CAGR than the wider industry. The global contact lens market is valued at $14.6 billion, growing at a CAGR of 4.3 per cent.
