TrustBIX Inc. (TSXV: TBIX) has announced it will fully acquire Alberta Food Security, a private Canadian company in order to strengthen its position in transforming the agriculture food industry.

The company said in a news release it will acquire 100 per cent of the issued and outstanding shares of Alberta Food Security.

Alberta Food Security holds the exclusive Alberta territory license and an option to acquire additional North American and international territories from AgriPlay.

“The deep-rooted commitment of AFS to enhance food security and sustainability aligns with our mission to transform the agri-food industry,” Hubert Lau, CEO of TrustBIX, said in a statement. “The combination of our technological prowess and AgriPlay’s innovative CEA solution holds tremendous potential to revolutionize, initially in Alberta, the agricultural landscape, fostering transparency, efficiency and resilience.”

The company said the two entities plan to complete their negotiations before the end of August 2023.

TrustBIX aims to create technology solutions that waste less water. The company delivers independent validation of provenance and sustainable practices within multiple supply chains and industries.

Shares of TrustBIX are unchanged at C$0.02.
