Kraken Robotics (TSXV:PNG) recently signed a contract to supply high-resolution seabed mapping sonar service to Precision Hydrographic Services.

Precision is a customer supporting the Australian Department of Defence, which awarded it a program to collect hydrographic high-resolution route surveys for several Australian ports. The purpose of the surveys is to enable the collection of maritime geospatial information to support maritime domain awareness by acquiring high-resolution seabed foundation data and associated oceanographic data.

Under the contract, a Katfish high-speed survey/detection solution will be used to acquire high-resolution route surveys of Australian ports. The survey campaign will take place between January and May 2024.  Kraken recently conducted a demonstration of Katfish for the customer in Q1 2023.

Katfish is a high-speed seabed survey system that provides ultra-high-resolution imagery and bathymetry (the measurement of depth of water in oceans, seas or lakes) for defence and commercial customers. The system is composed of Kraken’s Synthetic Aperture Sonar, Tentacle Winch, and Autonomous Launch and Recovery System. Applications include subsea pipelines, fibre-optic cables, key transit route safety and combat mission management systems.

Kraken Robotics is a marine technology company providing complex subsea sensors, batteries and robotic systems.

Kraken Robotics stock last traded at $0.63 per share and is up 31.25 per cent over the past month
