Canada Nickel Company (TSXV:CNC) has revealed the first five holes have been drilled at its Bannockburn Property’s “B” Zone near Timmins, Ontario.

In a news release, the company stated that drilling intersected multi-hundred-metre intervals of of 0.27 to 0.29 per cent nickel and contained higher-grade intervals of 0.30 per cent nickel or better.

“The Bannockburn ‘B’ Zone has now been tested for its total 1.1-kilometre strike length with multiple intervals in excess of 0.3 per cent nickel from previous and current drilling. Bannockburn is highly complementary to our southern cluster of properties at Sothman, Midlothian, Van Hise and Powell,” Mark Selby, CEO of Canada Nickel Company, said in a news release.

The most recent drilling program consisted of six holes that formed an infilling of previous work on the “B” Zone. All six drillholes intersected sections of moderate to strongly serpentinized dunite/peridotite.

The Bannockburn Property is 100 kilometres south of Timmins and consists of 151 contiguous unpatented mining claims totaling 3,250 hectares. Bannockburn is near the company’s Sothman, Midlothian, Van Hise and Powell properties forming a southern cluster of highly prospective targets near established infrastructure in Matachewan, Ontario, which is approximately 20 kilometres east of the project area.

Looking ahead, the company’s upcoming summer 2024 drill program will complete the drill program in anticipation of an initial resource later this year.

The Bannockburn Property is 100 kilometres south of Timmins and includes 151 contiguous unpatented mining claims totaling 3,250 hectares. 

The property is ideally located near Canada Nickel’s other properties, including Sothman, Midlothian, Van Hise and Powell properties forming a southern cluster of highly prospective targets near established infrastructure in Matachewan, Ontario, which is approximately 20 kilometres east of the project area.

Canada Nickel Company is advancing the next generation of nickel-sulphide projects to deliver nickel for the electric vehicle and stainless steel markets. 

Shares of Canada Nickel Company are down 0.72 per cent to C$1.38 as of 12:05 pm ET.
