CopperEx Resources (TSXV:CUEX) has revealed it has begun a focused geological field exploration program ahead of a Phase II drilling campaign at its flagship Exploradora Norte Project in Chile.

The company stated in a press release that it will conduct a three-week fieldwork program and will focus on infill areas and extensions in the north and south directions on the ADLP Target.

CopperEx Resources will also focus on infill areas and extension to the north on the Sorpresa Target.

“Based upon the excellent results of the recently published Phase I drill campaign, which demonstrated the robust gold grades and continuity at ADLP and importantly demonstrates that the newly identified surface gold mineralization at Sorpresa extends to depth and along strike, we are confident that the Phase II drill program will further expand on these results and the targets,” David Prins, CEO of CopperEx Resources, said in a statement. “We look forward to delivering the results from the Phase II drill campaign in a very timely manner, as was clearly accomplished on Phase I drilling.”

Highlights of the fieldwork program will include roughly 12 additional trenches and, once the laboratory results have been submitted, the company will focus on the ADLP and Sopresa targets.

The company said it plans to begin its Phase II program in under four months at the ADLP and Sopresa Targets, both of which are within the Franja del Oro area of the property.

CopperEX Resources is a copper and gold exploration company focused in Chile and Peru. Through its wholly owned Chilean and Peruvian subsidiaries, the company controls three exploration assets, the Exploradora Norte and Kio Buggy projects in Northern Chile, and the La Rica property in central-southern Peru.

Shares of CopperEx Resources Corp. (TSXV:CUEX) are unchanged at C$0.41.
