NHL Arcade: An old take on a new way to play

Earlier this month, NHL 25 introduced NHL Arcade, a unique and entertaining three-on-three experience within World of Chel. This event series features the return of “big heads” and power-up features that players can collect on the ice and use against opponents. Power-ups include supershot, freeze, super speed, small and big goalies, and more.

Played in the NHL Arcade Arena, a bespoke rink with no glass, rules, or stoppages, NHL Arcade will offer multiple events throughout the year to keep the experience fresh and engaging.

4 Nations Face-Off: Celebrating international hockey

Continuing into 2025, NHL 25 will introduce the 4 Nations Face-Off, a round-robin tournament hosted by the NHL and NHLPA. This event will feature NHL stars from Canada, Finland, Sweden, and the USA. The 4 Nations Face-Off content will be included in Hockey Ultimate Team, Play Now, Online Versus, Shootout, and a bespoke Tournament mode. The nations’ uniforms will also be available in World of Chel as part of the major tournament update.

Holiday season content and rewards

Players who engage with NHL 25 between November 15 and January 2 will receive 6 NHL Arcade Vanity Items in World of Chel and an 84 Road to 4 Nations Face-Off Player Choice Pack, redeemable immediately. This pack allows players to represent their nation by choosing one of four available items from their chosen country. Additionally, players will receive a PWHL 83 OVR Team Building Choice pack, redeemable on December 5th, coinciding with the PWHL integration.

Chipping it in the net

The PWHL has only been around since the start of the year but has already broken multiple attendance records and holds the worldwide all-time record for a women’s hockey game.

There are six teams in the league, featuring some of the best players in the world, Boston, Minnesota, Montréal, New York, Ottawa, and Toronto.

“Our partnership with EA SPORTS opens new doors to elevate women’s hockey across all levels,” Amy Scheer, the league’s senior vice president of business operations said in a news release. “Through this alliance, we’ll develop in-game and out-of-game experiences that strengthen the bond between our teams, players, and fans, bringing the PWHL closer to the global hockey community.”

It’s in the game

Developed by EA Vancouver, EA SPORTS NHL 25 is rated E10+ and is now available globally on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
