Junior miner SKRR Exploration (TSXV:SKRR) has hired Ross McElroy as a special advisor to its board of directors.
McElroy is an award-winning geologist with more than 38 years of mining industry experience across corporate and operations, spanning junior miners, mid-tier companies and major producers including Areva, Cameco and BHP Billiton.
He played a key role in the discovery of numerous world-class uranium and gold orebodies – several of which progressed through development and into production – including four of the last nine major discoveries in Canada’s Athabasca Basin.
He previously served as president and chief executive officer of Fission Uranium, overseeing Paladin Energy’s acquisition of the company at an implied equity valuation of $1.14 billion.
Notable awards in McElroy’s decorated career include the Northern Miner mining person of the year in 2013 and the PDAC Bill Dennis award in 2014.
