Golden Cariboo Resources (CSE:GCC), a British Columbia (B.C.)-based gold miner, encountered two large gold in MMI soil anomalies north of the known extent of the Halo zone and beyond the previous drill program at the Quesnelle gold and quartz property.

The first anomaly, the strongest on the property, boasts dimensions of 240 metres (787 feet) by 135 metres (443 feet), with its southernmost edge located only 260 metres (853 feet) north of drillhole QGQ24-20, which yielded 341.96 metres grading 0.71 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 6.96 g/t silver.

The second anomaly is a gold-copper-silver zone with anomalous values in arsenic, cadmium, cobalt, molybdenum, lead, antimony and zinc. According to Wednesday’s news release, its dimensions are at least 200 metres (656 feet) by 500 metres (1,640 feet), with its southernmost edge only 600 metres (1,969 feet) from QGQ24-20.

The MMI soil data, covering about 1.7 kilometre x 0.5 kilometre, shows the anomalies to correlate with known gold mineralization from previous trenching and diamond drilling, granting them strong exploration upside. Golden Cariboo plans to test this upside as part of its 2025 program outlined in February.

The Quesnelle gold and quartz mine property

The Quesnelle gold property features a gold and silver deposit discovered in 1865 and is almost fully encircled by an Osisko Development (TSXV:ODV) project heading into production.

Over 101 historical placer gold creeks on the 90 kilometre trend from the Cariboo Hudson mine to the Quesnelle property have recorded production and placer mining continues to this day.

Additionally, Hixon Creek, which dissects the property’s old hardrock mine workings, is a placer gold producing creek where small-scale gold production dates back to the mid-1860s.
