At the time of writing on Wednesday, the price of gold reached a record high of US$3,802.20, up from US$3,723.10 per ounce in our September 17th report – according to data from The Globe and Mail – propelled by interest rate cuts in Canada and the United States, with growing consensus for more to come, in search of a happy medium between offsetting pressures from Trump’s tariffs while keeping lingering inflation in check.

This week in gold

Mali’s Council of Ministers granted Roscan Gold (TSXV:ROS) new extensions of its key exploration permits covering the company’s Kandiole gold project, allowing management to continue to prove that the project’s proximity to B2Gold’s (TSX:BTO) 7-million-ounce Fekola mine, as well as IAMGOLD’s (TSX:IMG) Boto, Diakha and Siribaya deposits, isn’t a fluke.

NGEx Minerals (TSX:NGEX) received final approval from the Supreme Court of British Columbia to spin out the net smelter return royalties on its high-grade Lunahuasi project in Argentina and 69-per-cent-owned Los Helados project in Chile, the latter housing one of the largest undeveloped copper-gold resources in the world.

Yukon Metals (CSE:YMC) delivered new assays from its AZ Project, located 36 kilometres south of Beaver Creek, Yukon, further substantiating the presence of a large mineralized system.
