At the time of writing on Wednesday, the price of gold reached US$3,907.80, up from US$3,802.20 per ounce in our September 24th report, reacting to an ongoing government shutdown in the United States over a new spending bill, optimism about further U.S. interest rate cuts following a 25 basis point cut in September, and increasing confidence that the global economy will find its footing quicker than expected following President Trump’s tariffs.

Other notable stories include Globex Mining Enterprises (TSX:GMX) releasing new results from its 100-per-cent-owned Red Star project in Nevada, with grab samples assaying up to 1,171 grams per ton (g/t) of silver and 11.5 g/t gold along the project’s multiple kilometres of epithermal quartz vein systems.

We also have an interview by The Midas Letter with Kal Malhi, Chairman of LaFleur Minerals (CSE:LFLR), about the company’s Swanson project and permitted Beacon mill in Quebec and its intention to produce gold in early 2026.

Finally, Cameo Resources (CSE:MEO) finalized a drone magnetic survey over its 19.58 km² Katoro property in Tanzania, uncovering two fault trends suggesting the presence of gold-bearing shear zones. The project is on strike with TRX Gold’s 1.5-million-ounce Buckreef gold project.
