Antimony – Unknown but Extremely Important
The critical raw material antimony plays a vital role in key industries of national economies and is gaining strategic importance due to the tense geopolitical situation. The market is currently dominated by China, Russia, and Tajikistan. Prices have already risen significantly in the past.
Antimony’s most important applications are in military and security-related sectors. Here, antimony is practically indispensable. The list of applications is long and includes, among other things, special alloys, ammunition, optical systems, infrared technology, and electronic components. Antimony is also widely used in flame retardants.
Strategic Demand in a World of Geopolitical Conflicts
The United States’ announcement of plans to build a strategic reserve of critical raw materials and rare earths underscores the profound transformation of the commodities sector. Geopolitics is becoming a decisive factor in the valuation of commodity assets. States and governments, as a new and increasingly important investor group, are willing to pay high, strategically motivated prices to ensure supply security. Antimony Resources stands to benefit massively from this development. The Canadian company owns the largest antimony deposit in North America.
Analysts: Potential to Double
In a recent study, analysts at GBC rate Antimony Resources’ stock as a “Buy” and set a price target of CAD 3 – doubling potential! “With antimony, Antimony Resources is addressing a strategically highly relevant commodities market characterized by structural supply bottlenecks and rising demand. Combined with the promising Bald Hill project, we see an attractive foundation for dynamic corporate growth in the coming years,” the experts say.
Flagship Bald-Hill Project
The 1,100-hectare flagship Bald-Hill project in the Canadian province of New Brunswick represents the largest antimony deposit in North America. A technical report released last year provided insight into its potential value. Result: the Bald Hill project comprises approximately 2.7 million tons of rock with grades of 3 to 4% antimony, indicating contained antimony of 81,000 to 108,000 tons.
To more accurately determine the project’s economic viability and value, the resource estimate in accordance with Canadian Standard NI 43-101 announced for spring 2027 at the latest, is essential. For investors, this is an important milestone, as it reduces risk and provides greater clarity. Such a resource estimate often leads to a jump in a company’s valuation. Along the way, new drilling data will provide further important indications and momentum. The company has already raised CAD 9 million for the drilling program and is thus fully funded.
Large, High-Grade Antimony Deposits
Extensive drilling programs totaling more than 13,800 m have already been carried out on the property. The results confirm a high-grade and extensive system with significant antimony mineralization. Most recently, Antimony Resources reported, among other things, massive antimony-bearing stibnite deposits (“Sb”) with 5.10% Sb over 4.0 m, 2.15% Sb over 6.85 m, and 2.38% Sb over 9.60 m. Current and historical results show that 75% to 80% of all drill holes contain high-grade, antimony-bearing stibnite mineralization.
The ongoing drilling program is focused on the main zone at Bald Hill. Extension drilling is being conducted to establish a sufficient data set and drilling density for the planned resource estimate. To date, the zone extends over 700 m in length and more than 400 m in depth. According to the company, the newly discovered Marcus Zone, which lies west of the main zone and shows significant, separate potential, is also promising.

Antimony, a critical raw material, is still little known but is rapidly and inexorably gaining geopolitical significance. Its applications are systemically important, its substitutability is low, and global production is overly concentrated in China and other politically unstable countries. Western industries and governments are desperately seeking secure and reliable sources of supply. The geopolitical significance of North America’s largest antimony deposit should therefore not be underestimated. This asset could become highly sought after by governments and nations. Antimony prices are rising steadily. Analysts at GBC attest that the stock has the potential to double in value.
