Markets were mostly steady today as the TSX led the way while U.S. markets traded flat to slightly lower. The TSX climbed 0.99% and the TSX Venture Index gained 0.20%, while the Nasdaq was flat, up 0.00%, and the Dow slipped 0.25%. The FTSE 100 eased 0.12% as traders leaned into risk and fears of a rate hike continued to fade.

Oil fell 1.61% even as Middle East oil exports returned to pre-war levels, excluding Iran, while gold edged up 0.14% and copper gained 0.62%. Bitcoin slipped 0.49% to above C$122,000. The euro hit a 17-month low against the U.S. dollar as France’s debt fears deepened, while a DBS report argued that Nvidia’s valuations show the AI rally isn’t a bubble.
