Airbus: Flood of orders and share price rally near the EUR 200 mark

The European aircraft manufacturer Airbus remains on a growth trajectory. The company recently announced a major order from US leasing company Aviation Capital Group for 75 A320neo-family aircraft – the largest order in the customer’s almost 40-year history. A few days earlier, Irish leasing company Avolon had already ordered 110 aircraft, including 75 from the A320neo series and 35 A330-900 long-haul jets. Together, the two agreements cover 185 aircraft and underscore the sustained strong demand for modern, more fuel-efficient aircraft.

Deliveries are also picking up. In September, Airbus handed over 72 aircraft to customers, significantly more than in August. Since the start of the year, the total has reached 547 aircraft, up about 8% from the same period last year. The group is targeting around 870 deliveries for the current financial year. This would require 323 more handovers in the final quarter. Given persistent shortages of engines and other components, this target remains ambitious. The nine-month results, which Airbus will publish on October 28, should provide further clarity.

The situation on the stock market has also improved noticeably. After the shares repeatedly came under pressure in the EUR 185 to EUR 190 range, a strong rebound has recently taken place; at times, the share price approached the EUR 199 mark. Analysts are supporting the recovery: Research firm Jefferies reaffirmed its “Hold” rating on Airbus with a price target of EUR 200.

Beyond civil aviation, the group is positioning itself strategically in the defence business. Airbus Defence and Space head Michael Schöllhorn called for Germany to take a substantial share in the planned new European fighter jet. Following the stalled FCAS (Future Combat Air System) project with France, Airbus is seeking new partners to replace the Eurofighter fighter aircraft. Sustained demand in the core business and the push in the defence segment provide further upside for the shares in the longer term, provided the production ramp-up succeeds as planned.

HPQ Silicon: Technology stocks face a tough test

HPQ Silicon is positioning itself as a Canadian developer of processes for critical materials, including high-purity silicon, fumed silica and silicon anodes for lithium-ion batteries. Its regional production approach is gaining momentum amid changing industrial policies. Support is coming from North America and Europe, where investment in domestic supply chains is increasing as governments and companies seek to reduce dependence on imported battery and speciality materials. Additional demand drivers include transport electrification, growing demand for more efficient energy storage, and significantly increased defence budgets, not just among NATO countries.

At HPQ Silica Polvere, a 50/50 joint venture between HPQ and PyroGenesis, the focus is on fumed silica. The reactor is designed to process quartz directly, eliminating the chlorine-containing precursors traditionally used in conventional manufacturing. These have so far been standard in the conventional manufacturing process. According to the company, pilot operations have already delivered commercially usable quality material. In parallel, discussions are under way on plants with annual capacities of 1,000 to around 10,000 tonnes. This creates economies of scale in energy consumption, emissions, logistics and the handling of the chemicals required. However, further performance data, a robust economic feasibility assessment and binding offtake agreements are still needed to demonstrate that the technology can support a scalable business.

HPQ’s 36.8% stake in Novacium expands its exposure to battery technology. Following orders for drone and radio applications, HPQ has entered into a cell evaluation agreement with Aptera Motors. The US company is evaluating HPQ ENDURA+ cylindrical cells in the 21700 format, which use silicon anode materials developed by Novacium for potential electric vehicle applications. However, further laboratory tests must take place before series supply can be expected. This external application testing is an important milestone before large-scale production begins at a later stage.

HPQ is active in markets whose structural importance is growing. Its existing patents and pilot projects with initial customers reduce current development risk while laying the groundwork for future revenue. The recent share price pullback to the support zone at CAD 0.12 per share therefore presents an attractive risk-reward profile for this innovative company. At the same time, the bulls must defend this level. If they succeed, the next resistance level is significantly higher at CAD 0.20, while the subsequent support zone lies at CAD 0.07.

Singulus: After the share price slide, the rally faces scrutiny

Singulus Technologies AG shares continued their recent slide until last Tuesday. The interim monthly low was EUR 7.84. The bulls then took control and bought the stock up to EUR 12.00 by yesterday. The plant engineering company had recently reported increasing progress in its economic recovery. In the first half, revenue rose from EUR 31.3 million to EUR 45.3 million. Operating earnings before interest and taxes improved from minus EUR 1.3 million to plus EUR 2.7 million. Order intake also increased significantly to EUR 37.9 million. In August, Singulus confirmed its full-year expectations of around EUR 83 million in revenue and positive EBIT in the low single-digit millions.

This development provides a fundamental backdrop for the company’s revaluation. Whether the operational recovery continues to hold up therefore remains crucial for the upcoming financial results. On the chart, the steep upswing began in late March 2026. The rise to around EUR 11 was followed by a significant correction in July. The stock then found support between EUR 7 and EUR 8 before the next upward move began in late August. However, a sustained breakout above EUR 11 also failed to materialise in the autumn. Several failed attempts now underline the importance of this resistance level, which should serve as support once surpassed.

The 50-day moving average stands at EUR 9.50, and the 100-day moving average at EUR 8.60, forming potential support during price pullbacks. By contrast, the 200-day moving average remains significantly lower at EUR 5.96. The key for the bulls now will be the latest 8-year high at EUR 13.75 and whether a closing price above it can be achieved.

Conclusion

Airbus is benefiting from 185 new aircraft orders and rising deliveries, but must overcome supply chain bottlenecks to achieve its annual target of 870 aircraft. HPQ Silicon is advancing the commercialisation of silicon and battery technologies and must next demonstrate independent testing and subsequent scaling. Singulus reports operational improvements, and investors are gaining further confidence, having recently stepped up their buying again.
