Stockhouse’s Weekly Gold Report brings you top stories about mining stocks vying for a spot on your watchlist.

Our headline story shines a light on Snowline Gold (TSX:SGD), which took home the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada’s 2027 Bill Dennis Award, commemorating the discovery of the Valley gold deposit at the company’s Rogue Project in the Yukon.

This article is a journalistic opinion piece which has been written based on independent research. It is intended to inform investors and should not be taken as a recommendation or financial advice.

The preliminary economic assessment-stage deposit is estimated to host 7.94 million ounces of gold measured and indicated and 890,000 ounces of gold inferred, with work underway to deliver a pre-feasibility study by Q1 2027.

By the ounce

At the time of writing on Wednesday, the price of gold was US$4,041.105, according to data from ADVFN, down from US$4,065.31 per ounce in our October 28th report, representing a 1.33% loss year-over-year.

The metal remains hovering around the crucial US$4,000 threshold, pulled to and fro by a host of likely catalysts, including automated institutional sell and buy orders, a broad market equity selloff, which likely prompted safe-haven asset sales to raise cash, as well as high bond yields, which make non-yielding gold look like more of a burden than an asset.

This week in gold

British Columbia-based Artemis Gold (TSXV:ARTG) posted a profitable Q3, earnings $139.8 million in net income, up from $110.8 million year-over-year, bringing gold production year-to-date to 205,532 ounces. The company has plans in place to ramp up production to more than 500,000 ounces over the next two years.

Lodestar Metals (TSXV:LSTR), a junior miner in Nevada, turned up strong grades from all maiden drilling targets at its Gold Run Project, yielding up to 6.1 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 41.1 g/t silver over 16.8 metres. The project shares a Carlin and Epithermal-style trend with some of the largest gold deposits in North America.

Our closer this week is a story on West Red Lake Gold Mines (TSXV:WRLG), whose new pre-feasibility study integrating its Madsen Mine and Rowan Project in Ontario’s Red Lake Gold District estimates 884,000 ounces of production over a 10-year mine life. At all-in sustaining costs of only US$2,457 per ounce, the study sets the company up for an efficient decade to come, supported by numerous avenues for potential resource expansion.
