Greenland Mines (NASDAQ:GRML) said it welcomed the Greenland Parliament’s approval of a trilateral security agreement among Greenland, Denmark and the United States, describing it as a step toward closer Arctic and North Atlantic security cooperation.

The company said the agreement was signed in September at the United Nations General Assembly and was approved by Greenland’s Parliament in a 16 vote, with seven abstentions. Greenland Mines added that the agreement is expected to undergo further parliamentary consideration in Denmark.

In comments included in the release, Greenland Mines President Bo Møller Stensgaard argued that national security also depends on access to critical minerals used in defence systems and advanced technologies, and pointed to the company’s Sarfartoq rare earths and Skaergaard precious-metals projects as potential contributors to allied supply chains.

Greenland Mines described itself as a Greenland-focused critical-minerals developer. The company said its projects include the Skaergaard precious-metals project in southeast Greenland and the Sarfartoq neodymium-praseodymium rare earths project in southwest Greenland.

The release also said Greenland Mines’ North Atlantic Critical Metals Corridor strategy aims to connect Greenland resources with processing capacity and industrial customers in the United States and allied countries, and that its portfolio includes a strategic investment in AnorTech, which is developing alumina and other materials from Greenland anorthosite.
