One of the biggest names in aviation, Bombardier (BBD.A), is teaming up with iconic sports car maker Aston Martin.

The two industry-leaders will collaborate to “create the ultimate convergence of performance and style.”

The companies signed a letter of intent to collaborate on custom design services for Bombardier business jets.

The partnership gives customers the opportunity for a new customized design, “with the meeting of the top creative minds from the luxury automotive and private jet industries,” according to a joint release.

The option will be available on both Bombardier’s Challenger and Global business jets.

“Aston Martin has a highly refined set of automotive design principles, driven by the meticulous application of proportion, craft and technical innovation,” said Aston Martin Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman.

“Bombardier’s customers share our owners’ desire for unique contemporary design statements. We are truly excited at the prospect of collaborating with Bombardier’s accomplished design team to bring our respective design expertise together.”

Bombardier’s best-selling Challenger platform is a top choice among top corporate flight departments and charter operators worldwide and is a multiple award winner.

It’s larger Global business jet has won International Yacht & Aviation Awards for its Nuage seating collection.

Common shares of Bombardier are up 2.41 per cent on the day, and trading at C$0.85 at 11:22 am EST.
