Bombardier (TSX:BBD.A) is joining forces with fashion house ELIE SAAB to create a cabin design for the upcoming Global 8000 aircraft, marking the jet-maker’s first collaboration with a luxury fashion brand.
Founded in Lebanon in 1982, ELIE SAAB focuses on haute couture, ready-to-wear and bridal collections, as well as accessories, eyewear, childrenswear, watches, fragrances and furniture, and operates boutiques in major cities across the world.
The collaboration seeks to tap into “SAAB’s world-renowned artistry in haute couture and design,” according to Monday’s news release, with eyes on providing passengers with “an environment where comfort and elegance seamlessly meet.”
Customers interested in the Global 8000 will be able to select the ELIE SAAB design as part of the order process, with an official unveiling planned for 2026.
The Global 8000 stands out from competitors by offering the lowest cabin altitude in the industry and the longest range in its class at 8,000 nautical miles, enabled by a top speed of Mach 0.95, making it the fastest civilian aircraft on the market since the Concorde.
