Bombardier (TSX:BBD.A) aims to enhance your online experience above the clouds with the debut of its Smart Router, a new connectivity device developed with Collins Aerospace.
The device comes equipped with network switching and multi-path routing, allowing for uninterrupted service between networks during the flight, supported by a cutting-edge technological infrastructure, including Wi-Fi 6, 5G cellular, enterprise-level encryption, built-in redundancies, as well as real-time remote troubleshooting.
As per Tuesday’s news release, the company believes that the Smart Router’s advanced security features mark “a significant advancement over comparable technologies on the market,” granting it broad utility across the client spectrum spanning individuals, businesses, governments and militaries.
The router is being installed as baseline equipment on the Bombardier Challenger 650, Global 5500 and Global 6500 aircraft, and will be offered across all in-production Challenger and Global models by the end of 2026. Scheduled installations are now available for select operators.
